Background
What began as a thesis has evolved into an investment platform.
Airstream Capital is an investment and development platform focused on opportunities emerging from the global sports ecosystem, particularly where technology, media and digital innovation are reshaping the industry.
Over the past three years Airstream has invested its own capital alongside a small syndicate to build a portfolio of companies positioned to benefit from this transition.
1997 - 2020
Foundations
The team brings more than two decades of experience across private equity, corporate finance and the global sports industry.
These relationships and insights underpin the investment approach and provide access across clubs, leagues, athletes and commercial partners.
2021-2025
Validation
Capital has been deployed across a portfolio of companies operating at the intersection of sport, technology and media.
Active board and operational involvement has enabled close engagement with management teams as those businesses scale.
2026 and Beyond
Scale
The platform is now expanding across a pipeline of opportunities at different stages of growth, commercialisation and scale.
Additional capital will enable greater ownership in the strongest opportunities and participation in larger transactions.
Team
Institutional expertise. Industry relationships.
The Airstream team combines experience across private equity, investment banking and global sport, bringing together institutional investment discipline with deep relationships across the sports ecosystem.
Together the team combines institutional investment expertise with one of the most extensive commercial networks across the global sports industry.

Invested Capital
The full portfolio spans a range of opportunities across sport, technology and adjacent sectors. Within this, a subset of investments forms a core sport portfolio, representing the businesses most closely aligned with the sports ecosystem and its evolving commercial infrastructure.
These companies include some of the most advanced and highest-performing assets within the portfolio, where early investment and active involvement have provided both strong positioning and increased conviction for further capital deployment.
Thesis
Sport as an extraordinary driver of value.
Sport remains a significantly undervalued asset class relative to the scale and engagement of its global audiences, particularly outside the United States.
As media consumption shifts toward direct-to-consumer models, the ability for clubs, athletes and rights holders to engage and monetise their audiences is expanding rapidly. Over time, sports organisations are increasingly likely to be valued not only on traditional revenue metrics but also on the size and engagement of their global fan bases.
Industries such as gaming and betting are already far ahead of sport in understanding and monetising digital audiences. As technology adoption accelerates across the sports ecosystem, similar dynamics are beginning to emerge.
This transition creates a significant opportunity for technology platforms capable of enhancing fan engagement, media distribution and commercial monetisation across the sports economy.
Investment Model
A differentiated approach to investing across the sport.
Through the activity undertaken to date, a portfolio of companies and a pipeline of new and follow-on opportunities has been established across the sports ecosystem. A number of these opportunities now require additional capital to support expansion, increase ownership and participate in larger transactions.
Investment approach
proprietary access to opportunities
through an established network across sport and adjacent sectors
continuous origination through the ecosystem
including both portfolio-led and newly sourced opportunities
flexible investment structure
across stages and transaction types
high-conviction, concentrated approach
focused on a smaller number of core positions
Capital deployment
increasing ownership in existing positions
across the core sport portfolio
selective investment into new opportunities
emerging from the same ecosystem
supporting commercial scale-up
through capital and active operational involvement
participation in larger and structured transactions
including later-stage opportunities
ability to establish early, influential positions
through speed, flexibility and direct engagement
Capital is deployed across a defined portfolio and pipeline, with flexibility to scale into the strongest opportunities as they mature.
Strategy
Concentrate capital in the strongest opportunities.
Our core investment pipeline emerges from companies where we have already invested and worked closely with management, where our early capital deployment and active involvement have provided enhanced diligence and operational insight, allowing us to identify the strongest opportunities within the portfolio.
Our core investment pipeline emerges from companies where we have already invested and worked closely with management, where our early capital deployment and active involvement have provided enhanced diligence and operational insight, allowing us to identify the strongest opportunities within the portfolio.
Through this process we are able to select companies where additional capital can accelerate growth, commercial development and strategic partnerships.
This approach allows us to concentrate investment in opportunities where the team already possesses deep knowledge of the business, the leadership team and the commercial potential.
In practice, this typically involves:
01
Follow-on investment into selected existing portfolio companies
02
Increasing ownership in high-conviction opportunities
03
Supporting companies entering their next phase of growth
In addition to follow-on investment within the portfolio, we selectively pursues new opportunities and special situations where its network and operational involvement provide a structural advantage.
